How we got here
In 2019, Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources granted the Earl Group Large Scale Mining lease area of 16.02 square kilometers to undertake gold mining business in the Gbane area of the Talensi District of the Upper East Region.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the project was conducted leading to the submission of an Environmental Impact statement to the Environmental Protection Agency. A Public Forum on the project was held in December 2020.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued an Environmental Permit for both the Underground Mine and a proposed Tailings Storage Facility (TSF).
A Mine Operating Permit was granted by the Chief Inspector of Mines for operations to commence. The Life of Mine for the Gbane Gold Project is fourteen (14) years.
